Certificates

GIA (Gemological Institute of America) is an organization that deals with gemology - the science of diamonds and other precious stones. They issue certificates that provide information about diamonds, including their qualities and characteristics, such as color, clarity, and cut.

GIA certificates are extremely popular in the jewelry industry and are of great importance to customers purchasing diamonds. Certificates are usually provided as hard copies that accompany diamond jewelry.

However, in order to be more environmentally friendly, GIA has decided to make the Certificates only in digital format. Starting January 2023, KIRKORIAN DIAMONDS customers will no longer receive a paper certificate for graded diamonds. Instead, they will receive a GIA sticker containing a QR code that can be scanned to retrieve the digital certificate and verify the details.

Digital certificates are convenient because they can be viewed from any device, including mobile phones and computers. This means that customers can access their certificates anytime, anywhere.

It is important to note that this change only applies to diamonds that are certified by the GIA and that have a carat range of 0.15 to 2.99 carats.

All other laboratories, such as IGI and HRD, still provide paper copies of their certificates.
